Slice it open and it doesn’t even look real.
Shayna produces intensely vibrant magenta flesh with a color so deep it almost glows against the cactus when fully ripe. The flavor is sweet, juicy, and layered with notes of berry, grape, and kiwi, with fully ripened fruit reaching 17–21 brix here on our farm in Southern California.
But the fruit is only part of the reason people become obsessed with this variety.
Shayna grows fast, climbs aggressively, and transforms from a single cutting into a massive producing cactus that completely changes the look of a backyard trellis. Once it starts fruiting, it becomes the plant everyone talks about.
The flowers are enormous. The fruit looks unreal hanging from the vine. And every season, the plant comes back larger, heavier, and more productive than before.
Unlike many dragon fruit varieties, Shayna is self fertile, meaning it can produce with its own pollen. Cross pollination can increase production even further.
Every cutting is taken from mature producing plants growing on our farm in Fallbrook, California, where we’ve spent years testing varieties for flavor, production, growth, and performance.
What to know before you grow:
• Self-fertile variety
• 17-21 brix sweetness when fully ripened
• Medium to large fruit with vivid magenta flesh
• Fast vigorous grower with thick climbing growth
• Produces quickly once established
• Excellent for containers, trellises, and backyard growing
• Even heavier production with cross pollination
A year from now, you won’t believe this started as a single cutting.
Cutting 16–24 inches

Very nice cuttings. I have planted them. Hoping they root and grow, If I have success, will probably buy more cuttings
